The Symposium was held at the Esplanade Hotel in Fremantle, which is surrounded by beautiful parks and turquoise beaches with added attractions such as the famous Little Creatures Brewery and Cicerello’s, the home of Fish ‘N’ Chips.
Perth International Airport is easily accessible to flights from major European hubs including a non-stop flight from Heathrow, UK to Perth. Connections to downtown Perth are provided by bus (910). The fastest connection to Fremantle is by train (25 min).
Fremantle (better known as Freo) originates from the “Free Swan River colony”, which was formed in 1829 by people who chose to migrate to Australia rather than arriving as convicts. Freo has that casual Mediterranean feel and a relaxed atmosphere that is not typical of the much busier Perth city area.
In this relaxing environment we will have the opportunity to exchange ideas across diverse topics of the geoscientific world and reflect on the latest research findings of the structure of the Earth’s crust and upper mantle of the continents and their margins.
